Good evening, Gene & Shelba.
We have been busy at Shelby Missionary Methodist Church planning a CARE FAIR FOR HAITI ORPHANS on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10am until 7 pm.
We are planning several activities including a hot dog sale, bake sale, silent auction, a dunking booth (hopefully manned by the various pastors of the MMCA Conference), an all day singing, and large inflatables for the children to play on outside. We will be selling an 'armband' for $5, allowing the children to play on them all day.
The radio station 106.9 from Black Mountain will also be here to meet people, give things away, & play music from their van. They will be giving us free advertising for the event.
I do advertising on Channel 33, a local TV channel, for my business. The Dance-n-Hands children at church are filming a commercial that I will use instead of my commercials. They will also be interviewing Pastor David on one of their shows. We are also trying to set up an interview for David on Channel 16.
The Shelby Star will be doing a feature story about the event. Pictures & an article will be in The Shelby Shopper.
We have invited every church in the MMCA Conference to join us. There will be an organizational meeting at 7 pm Friday, Sept. 5, at our church for everyone who wants to attend.
Gene, in the TV commercials I will be referring people to the jeremieorphans.org website for a list of donations needed. Can you have a link put on the main page that says "CARE FAIR FOR HAITI ORPHANS" that people can click on to take them to info about the event & list items needed?
Please call me is you need to clarify anything or need more info about anything.

Those coming to the fair can bring the below items for helping out the Haiti Gospel Mission Orphanage in Haiti.
These items are especially needed as the hurricanes have stopped truck shipments of food and other necessary items for survival.
Mud slides have clearly stopped everything and typically these take sometimes months to be cleared.
We also need the below items to be shipped and always remember - it takes $6.00 per cubic foot of space to ship these items
If anyone can help financially - we thank you in advance.
