Message from Yvrose in Haiti - Feb 26, 2008

Dear Brother Gene,
I'm glad to write you this letter to tell what I'm doing. The property from Judgment Tree area we buy to built church- I receive the $2000 that the MMC sent to my bank account. I paid the owner for the property, I owe $8,000 to him. After 2 months - the rest needs to be paid. For the farm I plant 100 pounds corn. We don't have rain now. Pray for me so Jesus send some weather for us to grow May corn . Because I need it for the animals and kids.Today my children and I we went to pick up beans that we plant. I send you some pictures so you can see. Now everyday in Jeremie they put more money in rice that is sold. Before you left they sold it $150 ($21.50 USD bag - 100#) but now it's $200 ($28.50 USD). Haiti 'is life is hard. Thank you for helping me and my children and also the property to build the Haitian church.
Thanks because you bring all your missionaries to help children.
We praying for you and your group .May God bless you.
Yvrose and kids . We love you all

Yvrose is telling us that the cost-of-living is increasing rapidly in Haiti - our field office in Cap reports the same thing. She's telling us they are working hard to get rice and growing corn and beans to eat - probably one good meal a day. The animals we purchased while there will eventually help with additional food and protein - meanwhile it takes some $2,000 a month to feed them properly.
The missions account is empty right now - it needs replenished.
You can send money to the MMC to wire her for this - earmark all checks as to what project you are donating to - a receipt will be sent to you.

YET ~ Through it all - the tough life and hunger: Yvrose is making plans for the church and forging ahead for Christ!!!
Some Explanations: She "borrowed" the original $2,000 for the land deposit - it has to be paid back - so her cost is $10,000 plus $1,000 for surveying. There has been some $11,300 pledged - includes the original $2,000.
We have but 60 days to wire the money there to complete the transaction.
THEN: The building plan starts - clearing of the land (by the kids) - then we start recruiting teams to GO and begin a small church foundation - possibly a thatch church to begin with.
A concrete church and pastors quarters will have to be done sometime.
Then, of course, the walls for protection - gates, etc.
Much work to be done yet.
